Playing in the Space of I AM

It’s Springtime! Everything is growing full and rich and life everywhere appears magically greener. Trees growing leaves and flowers blooming, Springtime is when we see the butterflies and bees to play outside in the sunshine that were hidden for months.

At this time, we have the Sun moving through Fiery Aries, beginning the new astrological year. From Pisces to Aries, we shift from the visionary influences of Pisces/Neptune that offer us our visions and dreams, to the process of Aries where we begin on our new journey, the journey into the ‘I am’ to manifest what those dreams become.

Although we call them seasons, it’s much more symbolic than that, as the Beauty in Nature is that she shows us the gentle flow of a very natural evolution. Beginnings and expansion and living an experience to its fullest; then we begin the process of death and regeneration, clearing the way so once again prepare for new beginnings. It’s those seeds that fell from dried up old flowers that provided the nourishment for the earth and the opportunity for the potential of re-birth of Spring.

Leaving Pisces, Aries asks us to get in touch with our true self, the I AM self. What may be perceived as death and destruction, are merely those seeds of potential. Honor those things you choose to put aside as potential, without creating more stress for yourself with worries of what you have not done.  The potential holds the space on what we bring forward into our upcoming year! In these early stages, not only are we planting seeds, but we are gearing up for those new beginnings coming in.

Aries is asking us to be real, child-like, and pure: To OWN your experience. Allow emotions to be raw. Feel the love, play with the joy, cry the tears, work with the anger; that doesn’t give permission to project emotions onto people, but you can bring it forward, express it, and see what new consciousness comes from it.

One of my favorite sayings that perfectly describes an Aries energy is, “Live it, Be it, Own it.” When you have mastered all three, your life is can be very simple after all, when you know the rules to the game, it’s a lot easier to play. It’s not going to be about anyone else; it’s all about me and my life. No pointing fingers, no blame, no victim. This time is perfect for closing out what is lingering in the emotions by purging.

If you have a relationship or situation like a job that you have been struggling with, remember that experience is there as your ‘teacher,’ offering you the rewards of love, growth, understanding, and clarity. Is that relationship what you are? Is that job?

Is your pain or sadness even?  It may be helpful to recognize that you are simply releasing the part of you that gets angered or hurt when you think of a person or situation present in your life as you release fear, judgment, old hurts, and past betrayals; release exactly what is needed to allow space for joy because now can the seedlings can begin to grow.

Surrendering to our life situations is the hardest part of the journey because we have attachments to our present experiences and relationships. We feel that we need that job or relationship to make us happy, or so that so we can be safe. But life isn’t about what we do, but who we are as Aries reminds us to simply be… I Am.

Evolution is a process. So why not allow your process to be a gentle one? Try not to judge yourself if things haven't changed all at once. It is like peeling the layers of an onion… before you know it, you have reached the core of an issue. And when we arrive, chances are, we will see that it doesn’t hold the fear and trepidation we gave it.

Everything after the words, I AM….. creates your reality. So believe that, you have already opened the very doors to your hidden treasure! It’s hard to build a treasure map of now, when your present is rooted in the worry, fear, and the doubt of things that are really not serving us, holding on to the experience of what you already know. And to quote Dr. Phil, “How’s that working for ya?!”

More often than not, it’s what we ‘know’ that is exactly what we are looking to change. So what the heck have you got to lose?  Baggage? Ok then! Release yourself and enjoy the freedom you are about to embark on in your journey. Take a suitcase full of dreams but leave behind the baggage.

My advice is to stay in the moment and enjoy it. Too often, our desire to move forward in life makes us lose focus of staying grounded in the experience now. It is more about when I get here, of when I have this… You certainly wouldn’t go on vacation only to worry about your future or fret about the past. This keeps us from missing the blessing of the experience that is unfolding right now.  So if we push through to the outcome, what value will we have in the experience? Don’t find your experience empty because you forgot to open the space for pleasure and the expectation of what happiness can look like shouldn’t make us lose sight of the experience that has taken us there.

The cool thing is that as we move through our experience, we are really moving through a process of self-discovery that is amazing. We learn about ‘who we are’ and sometimes we even learn about ‘who we are not.’ And then just when we think we know who we are, life throws us a curve ball and the process starts all over again deepening our ability to discover even more about the depth of love, expression, courage, and the joy we can truly have and express in our lives.

Choose to free yourself from the emotional burdens and you find what you truly desire, the freedom in simply letting go while surrendering to the moment and to the new beginnings of Springtime and to the experience of the I AM.

“Live it, Be it, Own it!” Whether it is your desire to be the busy bee or the butterfly, it is time for freedom and for new beginnings and most importantly my friends, it is time to flutter and play in the sun!
